A cradle, a blade, and a guard that must close before it cuts
A rocker saw — a Wippsäge — is a circular blade in a fixed housing with a hinged cradle that swings the log into it. It is the machine that turns lengths into stove-sized rounds, and it is the most dangerous item on this site, which is why every page here reports the guard arrangement in the same detail as the performance. The blade diameter sets the cutting capacity: a 700 mm blade takes a round of roughly 240 mm, a 600 mm blade rather less, and the capacity figure is the one to read because blade diameter alone does not account for how deep the arbor sits. The motor is stated in kilowatts with a voltage, and as with splitters the voltage decides more than the power: three-phase machines dominate the top of the shelf. The cradle length decides the longest piece that can be handled without a second pair of hands. Then the interlock: the cradle must return and the blade must be covered before the machine can be restarted, and the listings that describe that mechanism are describing the thing that matters most.
